FAQ
Your questions
Proofreading and editing
1. I have written a text but it needs a complete rewrite, is this included in the "No mistakes and no errors" offer?
No. In this offer, I correct spelling, grammar, syntax, typography and punctuation mistakes as well as errors such as barbarisms, pleonasms, etc. I suggest rephrasing certain words or sentences. However, this does not mean that I rewrite your text. That would require a different approach, I would have to rethink the whole writing, rethinking each sentence, but also the style and the structure of the text. It would therefore be an editing job.
2. By correcting it, will you improve the style of my text/novel?
This goes back to the previous question. I am committed to giving you back a work that does not contain any more mistakes or language errors. However, I am not responsible for improving the style of your text/novel. That would require editing.
So don't expect the wrong thing: if you send me a poor quality text, don't expect me to give it back to you as a future literary prize.
3. I wrote a text in a foreign language and translated it into French with the help of an online translator. Can I submit it to you for correction?
You can send me your text so that I can judge for myself the state of the translation. In most cases, I will have to refuse your request because, having experienced it several times, I have been able to judge the catastrophic level of this type of translation. It is very difficult to correct and reformulate sentences that do not make sense. In some cases, I can accept such a revision, especially if the original document was written in English. However, this will require that I have access to the document as well.
4. I have a document in PDF format, can you correct it?
Yes, but this will incur additional costs. Indeed, it is not possible to correct the text directly with this type of format. I must therefore insert a comment each time. Depending on the number of errors to be corrected, this can take up to 10 times longer. For example, in Word, I can insert a comma; on the other hand, in PDF, I have to insert a comment explaining to you that you should add a comma at one place or another. Imagine that all the punctuation has to be revised, you will understand the task that this represents.
Writing
1. I have an idea for a novel/short story but would like someone to write it for me. Is this a service you offer?
Yes, I can be your ghost-writer, provided that my name is associated with that, and this for any type of publication on any medium.
2. Do you write life stories?
Yes, as ghost-writer or under my name, I can write for you life stories or autobiographies according to the form that suits you (factual, fictional).
Translation
1. Isn't it enough to use an online translator?
No. Although online translators have improved significantly in recent years, you cannot rely on them to produce a quality text. An English term can have many possible translations depending on the context and the author's intent. An online translator is not able to grasp all of these subtleties, which sometimes results in translations that make no sense at all.
