General Terms and Conditions of Sale

Article 1: Personalized quotes

Any request for a service, whether it be for beta reading, proofreading and corrections, writing or translation, is subject to a free, non-binding, personalized estimate valid for one month. Each estimate sets out the work to be done, the rate, the deadline, the method of payment and responds to any request previously agreed.

Personalized quotes are drawn up on the basis of an excerpt from your documents and the number of words in the text to be proofread, corrected, translated or written.

Article 2: Orders

The signature of the quote by the client accompanied by the words "Read and approved" constitutes an order form and the unreserved acceptance of these general terms of sale. The order is only validated on receipt of the corresponding payment, unless otherwise indicated on the quote. A proof of payment can also be sent to validate your order.

Article 3: Modifications and new requests

After acceptance of the quotation, each modification or addition will be the subject of a new quotation, except in the case of a reasonable request left to the discretion of La Relectrice.

Article 4: Rates

The rates applied are expressed in Euros and are net of VAT according to Art. 293b of the General Tax Code. They can be modified at any time. However, the rates are maintained for all duly signed quotes.

Article 5: Payment

Payment shall be fully made, upon signature of the quote, unless otherwise indicated on the quote. The client is free to pay in cash, by bank or postal cheque, or by bank transfer or credit card.

Article 6: Withdrawal period

The client has a period of seven days from the date of signature of the estimate to retract. He/she must inform La Relectrice by registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt. The amount paid will be refunded as soon as possible. However, this provision does not apply if the work has been completed and sent to the client during the withdrawal period. On the other hand, if the work has been started, the reimbursement of the amount paid shall be made in proportion to the work already carried out (and taking into account possible reimbursement costs). This work will be sent to the client as a sign of good faith.

Article 7: Time limit for the execution of the service

The service shall be performed within the period agreed with the client and indicated on the quote. In case of force majeure, La Relectrice reserves the right to postpone this deadline. The client will be informed of this and will not be entitled to claim any compensation.

Article 8: Delivery of work

Unless expressly requested otherwise, the work is delivered to the client by e-mail. The sending of documents by post will incur additional costs. Furthermore, La Relectrice is not responsible for the documents once they have been handed over to the Post Office.

Article 9: Invoices

An invoice shall be issued for any service performed. This invoice shall include the description of the work carried out and the rates mentioned on the estimate.

Article 10: Revisions

Each service delivered may be subject to revision. The client has a period of ten days from the delivery of the work to express any reservations. La Relectrice may make one or more corrections according to the client's wishes, in one go. After this period, the order will be considered accepted and validated by the client.

Article 11: Obligations and responsibilities of the client

The client undertakes to provide La Relectrice with the elements necessary to carry out the requested task. The client undertakes to provide correct information, of which he/she is the author or for which he/she has the right to modify. La Relectrice shall not be held liable for delays in delivery due to lack of material in its possession, incorrect or incomplete data. La Relectrice is also not responsible for checking the copyright of the documents sent by the customer. Finally, the customer is obliged to check his computer equipment regularly and to protect it against possible viruses or intrusions.

Article 12: Obligations and responsibilities of La Relectrice

La Relectrice undertakes to respect the confidentiality of any data that may be transmitted to her. She undertakes to carry out each assignment with professionalism and passion, making the best possible use of the French language and her own abilities. It shall ensure that the integrity of each work entrusted to it is respected. La Relectrice also undertakes to monitor her equipment - in particular her computer equipment - and to protect it from any viruses.

Article 13: Ownership of the work

The work carried out by La Relectrice remains its property as long as the sums due by the client have not been paid in full.

Article 14: Dispute

If a dispute should arise between the client and La Relectrice, the quote signed by the client, the present general terms and conditions of sale as well as the copy of the work carried out by La Relectrice will serve as proof. The present general terms and conditions of sale are subject to French law. If no amicable solution has been found in the event of a dispute between the two parties, the latter will be under the jurisdiction of the Commercial Court of Annecy.
